The TAFISA General Assembly, held on 15 May 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic, has elected the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee as the host of the 31st TAFISA World Congress 2029 in Taipei City!
The election marks a historic milestone for the global Sport for All movement, as Taipei 2029 will represent the return of the TAFISA World Congress to Asia after a decade, and to Chinese Taipei after 20 years.
TAFISA President Janez Sodržnik welcomed the decision:
"We are thrilled to welcome Taipei as the home of our 2029 World Congress. Chinese Taipei has always been a passionate advocate for Sport for All, and we have no doubt that this Congress will inspire our global movement at a truly defining moment for the Sport for All community worldwide."
Chai-Fu Tsai, President of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, expressed his organisation's commitment to delivering an outstanding event:
"Taipei 2029 will mark the return of the Congress to Asia after 10 years and to Chinese Taipei after 20 years, while also serving as an important milestone one year ahead of Mission 2030. As a modern and vibrant international city where Sport for All is part of everyday life, Taipei offers excellent public sports facilities, convenient transportation, and extensive experience in hosting international events. The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee is fully prepared to deliver a successful and memorable Congress in 2029."
